The Summerkids day begins at "Campfire."
There's no real fire, we promise. But it is a place where we gather, sing songs,
and watch some CRAZY counselor skits.
Then it's time to pick activities!
Campers choose from about 20 choices...
for each of four periods during a camp day.
Some activities, like archery,
and swimming in our spacious pool
are offered for one specific age group at a time.
(Learn more about our pool and swimming at camp here.)
But most activities are open to campers of all ages!
Each period they have a wealth of choices.
(And each period's set of choices is different.)
The mix of activities includes games, crafts,
traditional and unconventional sports and more.
Campers might make a lanyard,
or build a rocket pack,
or make a hamma bead creation.
They could choose a traditional sport, like basketball,
or something unconventional, like Frisbee Wars.
(We're not even through one period yet!)
There might be "Four Squares of Doom" (one of our many creative camp games)
gathering harvest from our camp garden,
playing in a camp-based Drum Circle,
or cooking in our kitchen, often using fresh ingredients from our garden.
This is tomatillo salsa, paired with homemade tortillas we pressed ourselves.
The day might include playing guitars on our lodge deck,
